User Guide

Create your first client-ready selection

Learn the Chrome extension and web app workflow in about 10 minutes.

Set up your account, save Copart and IAAI lots, publish a selection, collect client feedback, and review paid reports before bidding.

10 steps

Start here: your first successful workflow

These 10 steps show the complete workflow. Use the sections below when you need instructions for a specific step.

1

Create your AutoInsight account

Start in the web app so saved lots, selections, reports, and access stay tied to one account.

2

Install the Chrome extension

Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store and keep it available in the browser toolbar.

3

Sign in to the extension

Use email and password in the extension so auction lot saves land in your AutoInsight account.

Use Google in the web app; set an extension password once in Profile to sign in to the Chrome extension.
4

Open a supported Copart or IAAI lot page

Review the vehicle on the source auction site before saving it to AutoInsight.

5

Save the lot to AutoInsight

Use the injected AutoInsight save action on the supported auction page.

6

Create or open a selection

Group related vehicles into one client-ready selection instead of separate links and screenshots.

7

Choose private or public access

Use private for an assigned signed-in client, or public when simple link viewing is enough.

8

Save & Submit

Finalize the draft selection and publish it into the AutoInsight web app.

9

Share the link and collect feedback

Send one clean link and keep comments, likes, and max bids attached to each lot.

10

Order paid reports only when needed

Use available report options after checking the price and source limitations before payment.

Setup

Set up the web account, then sign in to the extension

AutoInsight keeps one account across the web app and Chrome extension, but the extension currently signs in with email and password.

Use Google in the web app, add a password once for extension access

Sign in to the web app first. If you use Google, open Profile and set an extension password once. Then sign in to the Chrome extension with the same email and that password. Your lots, selections, reports, and access remain in the same AutoInsight account.

  1. 1

Sign in or create your AutoInsight account in the web app.

  2. 2

Set an extension password only if the account uses Google sign-in.

  3. 3

Install or open the extension and sign in with email/password.

Install from the Chrome Web Store

The extension is the fastest way to save supported Copart and IAAI lots while you review auction pages.

Open Chrome Web Store
A1

Web sign-in with Google

Web sign-in supports Google authentication and email/password access.

A4

Set extension password in Profile

Google-created accounts set a password once before extension login.

Save

Save Copart and IAAI lots from the auction page

Use the AutoInsight button on supported individual lot pages after reviewing the vehicle on the auction source page.

  1. 1

Open a supported individual Copart or IAAI lot page.

  2. 2

Review the vehicle on the auction source page before saving it.

  3. 3

Click Save to selection and confirm the lot appears in the extension draft.

AutoInsight helps organize auction research. It does not replace your own auction or vehicle due diligence.

E1

Copart save action

Save a supported Copart lot directly from the auction page after reviewing it.

E2

IAAI save action

Use the same capture flow on supported IAAI lot pages.

Publish

Turn saved lots into a client-ready selection

Create a new selection or add to an existing one, remove weak lots, add recommended max bids, and choose the right access mode.

  1. 1

Create a new selection or choose an existing one.

  2. 2

    Reorder lots before sharing.

  3. 3

    Remove unsuitable lots.

  4. 4

Add the broker’s recommended max bid.

  5. 5

Choose Private or Public and press Save & Submit.

Private selection

Only the assigned client can open it after signing in. Use it for comments, likes, and max-bid approval.

Public selection

Anyone with the link can view it without signing in. Private client controls are not available.

E3

Private selection popup

Private mode is for a specific client email/account.

E4

Public selection popup

Public mode creates a selection that anyone with the link can view.

Owner

Owner view: manage the decision trail before bidding

The creator manages the selection, reviews lot feedback, watches VIN/report context, and keeps decisions attached to the right vehicle.

  1. 1

As the selection owner, manage the name, active status, visibility, and assigned client.

  2. 2

Review lot-specific comments, likes, and max bids.

  3. 3

Review VIN context and report status near each vehicle.

  4. 4

Read warnings before changing the client or access mode.

Changing private/public mode or client assignment can affect collaboration context. Review warnings before changing a live client selection.

W2

Owner manage panel

Owner manages name, visibility, active status, and private client assignment.

W3

Lot thread and feedback

Lot-specific discussion keeps comments, replies, and max bid context attached to the vehicle.

Roles

Client and public views: choose the right sharing mode

Private selections are for a specific assigned client. Public selections are for simple link viewing.

Private client

Signs in with the assigned account, opens the active private selection, and uses the comment, like, and max-bid controls shown to them.

Public viewer

Opens the public link without signing in and sees the public version without private-client controls.

Signing in does not turn a public viewer into the assigned private client.

Comments, likes, and max bids

  • Comments are lot-specific, so questions stay attached to the exact vehicle.
  • Likes show quick interest while the client compares several vehicles.
  • The max bid is the highest amount the client approves for that lot.
  • The owner reviews feedback before returning to the auction to bid.

Public selection view

Public selections open by link in the public version.

Paid reports

Order available one-time digital reports only when they help your pre-bid review. Prices are shown before checkout.

Each report is purchased separately. Check the price and availability before checkout. Completed reports remain available in My Reports. Reports support preliminary research and do not replace an independent vehicle inspection.

FAQ

Troubleshooting the first workflow

Use these short answers when extension sign-in, selection access, report availability, or payment/report access does not look right.

I signed up with Google but cannot sign in to the extension.

Sign in to the web app with Google, open Profile, and set an extension password once. Then use email and password in the Chrome extension.

The Save to selection button does not appear.

Confirm the extension is installed and enabled, then refresh a supported Copart or IAAI lot page. The extension works on supported lot pages, not every auction or search page.

The lot did not appear in the extension.

Refresh the page, reopen the extension popup, and confirm you are signed in with the intended AutoInsight account before saving again.

I saved a lot under the wrong account.

Sign out of the extension, sign in with the intended account, and save the lot again. Account, selection, and report access stay tied to the signed-in account.

My client cannot open a private selection.

Check that the selection is active, private, and assigned to the client email/account they use to sign in.

A public link opens, but the client cannot use expected actions.

Public links open the public version. Use private assigned access when you need signed-in owner-client collaboration.

A report option is unavailable.

Report availability depends on VIN, vehicle, manufacturer, provider, reseller, and source data. Not every lot has every report option.

I have a payment or report access issue.

Check Billing, Payment History, and My Reports. If the issue remains, contact support and include your account email and the order or report ID.

I need to reset my password.

Use the form to reset your password for email/password access. If your web account uses Google, set the extension password in Profile.

Where do I contact support?

Use the Support page for account access, billing, subscriptions, report delivery, refunds, and technical issues.
