User Guide

Practical workflow for selection operators and their clients

This page focuses on real day-to-day flow: first unlock access, then build selection in extension, then collaborate in web app. Client instructions stay short because client role is mostly review and communication.

1. Authentication in extension and web app

Required setup

Web app supports Google and password login. Extension requires password login only.

If you do not have an account

  1. Create account in web app (Google or email/password).
  2. If you used Google, add password in profile.
  3. Sign in to extension using email + password.

If you already have an account

  1. Open profile and verify password exists.
  2. If password is missing, set/reset it once.
  3. Use same credentials in extension and web app.

Extension does not support direct Google sign-in button. Password is mandatory for extension access.

A1

Web sign-in (Google available in web app)

Web sign-in supports Google authentication for faster onboarding.

A2

Sign-up with email and password

You can create account directly with email/password and use it in both web and extension.

A3

Reset password

Use reset flow any time if extension access fails due to missing/old password.

A4

Set extension password in profile

If account was created with Google only, set password in profile before using extension login.

2. Work on auction sites and in extension popup

Operator workflow

Capture lots from auction pages, organize shortlist in popup, then publish with Save & Submit.

Install extension from Chrome Web Store

Open listing and click Add to Chrome. Installation is a one-click flow in Chrome, then pin extension for faster daily use.

Open Chrome Web Store
  1. Install AutoInsight in Chrome via Add to Chrome.
  2. Open Copart or IAAI lot page and click injected Save to selection button.
  3. Review captured lots in extension popup before finalization.
  4. Reorder lots, set max bids, and remove unnecessary rows.
  5. Choose visibility:
    • Private: client email is required.
    • Public: no client email required.
  6. Click Save & Submit when selection is complete. Button is active only when required fields are valid.

Until Save & Submit, lots stay in extension popup state. Data is synchronized through Google Chrome sync storage when browser sync is enabled.

E1

Copart page button injection

Click Save to selection directly on Copart lot page.

E2

IAAI page button injection

Same one-click flow on IAAI lot page.

E3

Private selection popup

Private mode requires client email and unlocks owner-client collaboration after publish.

E4

Public selection popup

Public mode keeps selection open for viewing by link (no client assignment required).

3. Work with selections in web app

Collaboration flow

Web app is where owner and client collaborate after publish: list management, chat, likes, max bids, and moderation actions.

Non-authorized users

  • Can view public selections by link.
  • Can browse public pages (home, guide, privacy).
  • Any interaction requires sign-in.

Authorized users

  • Profile editing (username/avatar/account details).
  • Selection lists: My selections and Assigned to me.
  • Filter and sort panel for fast navigation.

Client actions on assigned private selection

  • Set max bid values and add likes.
  • Write comments and replies per lot.
  • Delete lot when needed (removes lot chat thread).
  • Collapse/expand chat per lot.

Owner actions on created selection

  • All collaboration actions available to client role.
  • Manage panel: name, status, visibility, reassignment.
  • Danger zone selection deletion.
  • Like is a client signal; owner views it but does not set it.
